While everyone, including director Denis Villeneuve, expects Zimmer to win the upcoming Oscar for his work in the 2021 film’s sequel, there are some uncertainties that are holding the legend back.
According to reports, the Academy’s limit for using pre-existing music in a film is 20%. Meanwhile, the score created for Dune: Part Two is estimated to exceed this.
For those who don’t know, the score composer for the Daniel Craig starrer No Time to Die has already won an Academy Award for his talent on display in Dune: Part One.
