The Justice League is one of the most beloved and very famous teams of superheroes in the world of comic books, TV series and movies. While we’ve had a chance to see Earth’s legendary defenders in Zack Snyder’s upcoming movies in the DC Extended Universe, people are still hoping to see them in the newly rebooted franchise, directed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Will go.
Speaking about the team’s existence, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the first season of Peacemaker serves as “light canon” alongside Creature Commando and the new DCU.
Adding his own words, Gunn continued, “Peacemaker is pretty straightforward, except for the presence of a certain group (the Justice League) at the end. They don’t exist yet.”
Director, James Gunn then also said that the event or character is only likely to exist if the new DCU projects contain any mention of the previous DCEU films.
For those who don’t know, Peacemaker gave audiences one last look at major superheroes like Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Flash.
While audiences also saw a faceless Superman and Wonder Woman, they were played not by Henry Cavill or Gal Gadot, but by body doubles, Brad Abramenko and Kimberly Von Eilberg.
Meanwhile, at the end of the second installment of the Suicide Squad movie, we also saw Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag die, which now brings us to the introduction of his father, Rick Flag Sr., in the animated Creature Commando.
The character will be voiced by Frank Grillo, who is also set to appear in the 2025 live action project Superman and the Peacemaker Season 2.
Although it appears that the Justice League still doesn’t exist, the Superman movie will introduce us to its members, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner Green Lantern, and Metamorpho. Meanwhile, other new superheroes are also coming to screens including Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl, Earth’s Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
DC Studios’ Creature Commando will premiere on Max on December 5.
