Actor David Konswate’s Science-Fi Action-Drama ‘Superman’ has given a debate on his subtle political message. Even though director James Gun has not referred to reference to any real life, there is a different interpretation of a section of the audience.
Some of the recent posts on X have commented on ‘Superman’s ideas’, which revolves around the Israel-Gaja war. One user commented that the film has a well -designed story around the Middle Eastern struggle. The post wrote, “I loved Superman, even the things I had criticized in trailers. James Gun was very brave to make a Middle Eastern struggle a superhero blockbuster driving force. I could see that I was Israel (Borvia), Palestine (Jarranpur), and the United States (SIC) (SIC) (SIC).
Another user wrote, “Thank you, James Gun. I know you will ignore it, but not only thanks for a great superman film, but that additional node … signal … Palestine (SIC).”
An X user read in a long post, “‘Superman’ is a powerful and clear comment on the insensitive massacre against the Palestinians in Gaza and crosses the inhumanity of the world and Israel against them. It is a film about humanity and no difference that we share humanity (SIC).”
He further read, “This is a beautiful and very important film and I never expected to feel so much during it. You are all for a complete treatment. And for some crowds who are going to hate the film for their political message, how can we be a problem with saying that we are all human and we should not hate each other? This is ‘Superman’.

James Gun’s subtle comment on border struggle
The film begins with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosonhan), interviewing Superman (Creynswetws), when he stops the United States (US) colleague from attacking his neighboring country, Jaranpur. ‘Superman’ depicts Borvia as a country that has a well -equipped army with American support, while Jaranpur does not have enough resources to defend itself.
The trailer for the superhero film shows the Borvian army marching with tanks and soldiers, while the citizens of Jaranpur are unarmed and are trying to save their lives. Borwians are ethnicly depicted as white, while Jaranpurians are non-white.
The nation of Borwia has planned to displace indigenous Jaranpuris and expand the state of Borvian. The ‘Superman’ also has similarities with Israel-Gaja war in some sequences of the battlefield.
During the debate between Lois and Superman, the former argues that an uncontrolled Jaranpur further bloodted, as stated by The nationalSuperman, in his response, says that despite stress, restoring peace was the only option to save innocent life. Lois’s argument somehow draws similarities for criticism of Hamas.

Immigrant story in ‘Superman’
Gun, in an earlier interview The Times of LondonSaid that ‘Superman’ was a story about an immigrant. He said, “I mean, ‘Superman’ is the story of America (SIC).” He added, “An immigrant who came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says that basic human kindness is a value and something that we have lost (SIC).”
His remarks were interpreted as a direct comment on US President Donald Trump’s immigration policy. Dean Can, former Superman of ‘Lois and Clarke’ (1993–1997) criticized the gun, which was also for waking up with the character. Can, in an interview TMZSaid, “Superman is always standing for ‘Truth, Justice and the American Way’, and ‘American Way’ is’ immigrant-oriented, tremendous immigrant-non-Aukul (SIC).”
In addition to the Trump administration, the presence of Borvian leader Vasil Glarkos played by Zlatko Burik, is similar to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Glarkos has been shown a relationship with the Pratipakshi Louthar depicted by the Nicholas Halt.
Online principles have also been linked to a 2016 statement by ‘Superman’ comic book writer John Bayran. In an interview with Daily animalHe said, “Of course, Donald Trump was our model (SIC).”
Even though ‘Superman’ has mixed mixed reactions to politics, the presence of geopolitics in the superhero film is undisputed. The film is supported by DC Studio, Troll Court Entertainment and Safran Company.
‘Superman’ was released in theaters in India on July 11, 2025.
