‘Doctors warned me to come out of character’: Nawazuddin Siddiqui opens about the intensive role which was launched in the hospital

During his impressive career, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has played several memorable roles, which have left a permanent impression on the audience. Although their performance may appear comfortable, they are supported by intensive dedication behind the curtain. In a recent conversation, he highlighted his preparation methods. Nawaz revealed that, for a special role, he was so deeply engrossed in the character that a doctor also warned him to get out of it, taking care that it could become a serious problem.

Talking to a very filmy film, Nawazuddin Siddiqui considered how deeply he had immersed himself in the role of a serial killer for Anurag Kashyap’s film Psycho Raman. He shared that during the shooting, he fell ill and had to be hospitalized after unconsciousness on the set.

According to him, he was so engrossed in this character that he unknowingly started reading the dialogue of the film by lying in the hospital bed. The people around him later informed him of his behavior, and doctors allegedly advised him to separate him from the role for his mental and physical welfare.

In a recent conversation, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed that to portray the character of Tehur Langda in Aamir Mine Talaash, they had to make significant changes in their physicality.

He explained that the character was a fast book and he had a lame, and whenever he spoke, his eyes widened. Nawaz mentioned that, as a calm and composed person in real life, he had to adopt these symptoms to bring the character into life.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui also recalled his depiction of Faisal in gangs in Vasipur, where he went to a big length to bring authenticity to the character.

He shared that he would use glycerin in his eyes, not to cry himself, but to create a red, painful eye appearance, add a layer of depth to his performance. He explained, “I will put glycerin in my eyes, not to cry, but so that my eyes turn red and some pain is seen.”

On the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was last seen in Costao of Zee5, which received mixed reviews from critics. However, his performance in the film received widespread praise. Looking forward, he is ready to appear in the Netflix film Rat Akili Hai 2.
