What is indenture?

Girmit is a puffed rice dish from Karnataka. It is said to be particularly popular as a street food item. Girmit combines puffed rice with a cooked mixture made of onion, tamarind, masala and basic tadka ingredients. Peanuts and sev add to the unique texture of this dish. Girmit is a great option for your evening snack time or even as an appetizer before your main meal. It can be prepared in just 15-20 minutes. In Girmit you do not need to prepare chutney for extra taste. Rather, the spiciness and spiciness come directly from other ingredients. This not only makes the dish different from Bhel but also cooks quickly.

How to make Girmit at home. Quick and easy recipe for Karnataka-style girmit

Lightly fry the chana dal and grind it to make a fine powder. Cancel. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies and onion. Add salt along with spices and fry. – After this add tamarind pulp, jaggery powder and some hot water. Keep stirring this mixture and let it cook for some time.

Take a big bowl and add generous amount of Kurmura in it, followed by the previously prepared masala mixture. Add ground gram dal, onion, tomato, coriander and peanuts. Mix all the elements well. Pour sev and lemon juice over the dish. Dig in immediately, otherwise the kurma will be soggy!
