Richa Chadha joined her husband Ali Fazal in the production of the film Girls Will Be Girls under their banner Pushing Button Studios. Directed by Shuchi Talati, the film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and is receiving love from audiences across the country. During a conversation with The Indian Express, Ali Fazal talked about his first production venture Girls Will Be Girls. In the interview, the 3 Idiots actor said that he hails from a country that is famous for its jugaad and ability to find a way to get things done. The actor said, “To be honest, we asked for money from here and there and even broke our FD to fund Girls Will Be Girls.”
Now, the film is getting a good release and many sections of the audience are watching it. Therefore, according to him, creators should not be particularly concerned about money in a thoughtful situation just because it is possible. To this Richa Chadha said that collaboration can help determined people create content and bring it to the screen.
Supporting her statement with an example, the Heeramandi actress said that the film was edited in France and received a grant because of the basic idea of the film. Earlier, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had reviewed Girls Will Be Girls and urged the audience to watch it. She was also joined by Hrithik Roshan who revealed about watching the film at the MAMI festival. The Fighter actor said, “Very rarely have I been so inspired and so impressed by a film. The work is pure genius.”
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and won several awards at the prestigious event. For those unaware, the coming-of-age drama film stars Kani Kushruti along with newcomers Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiran in pivotal roles.
