Govinda started his acting career in Hindi cinema in the 80s and became a successful star in the 90s. At the beginning of his career, Govinda signed 75 films at the age of 21 and later left 25 of them. Do you know that Govinda once took just 15 minutes to shoot a song for Hero No. 1 near the Eiffel Tower? Casting director-actor Abhishek Banerjee recently revealed what happened on the sets.
During a new interview with Lallantop, Abhishek Banerjee recalled the time when director David Dhawan told him how Govinda shot a song sequence in 15 minutes in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Banerjee remembered that director David Dhawan was to shoot a song segment near the Eiffel Tower, however, he did not have permission to start filming there.
“Govinda ne ye bola tu bas camera on kar aur fatafat jo yeh steps hain group saath 15-20 min mein dance karke nikal liye (Govinda asked him to turn on the camera and the actor did the dance steps and completed the shooting. 15 -20 minutes and left the set),’ said the Stree 2 actor.
Abhishek Banerjee shared that no actor can work like Govinda and said that he does not believe that any other actor can do what he did in the 90s. Praising his professionalism, Banerjee said that as an actor he knew how to finish his work on time and leave.
For those unaware, this happened on the sets of the track ‘Mohabbat Ki Nahi Jaati’ from the 1997 film Hero No. 1. Karisma Kapoor was also in this song. In one sequence, Govinda and Karisma performed unique dance steps in the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. Both the stars were surrounded by the audience present at the site.
Apart from Hero No. 1, Govinda is also known for films like Coolie No. 1, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Swarg, Saajan Chale Sasural, Raja Babu, Rajaji, Partner and many more.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee starred in two films, Stree 2 and Veda, last month. Both the films clashed at the box office on 15 August. While Stree 2 featured Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the onus of Veda was on John Abraham and Sharvari.
