Ariana Grande and her brother Frankie Grande are mourning the loss of their beloved grandmother, Marjori ‘Nona’, who died peacefully at home at the age of 99.
The Grande family announced the news in a heartfelt statement on social media on Tuesday, June 17. “We have been destroyed to share that our family’s beloved maternal mother has passed away,” read the message of Ariana’s mother Joan Grande. “Marjori (Non) Grande passed peacefully in his house and was surrounded by his family and loved ones for the last few weeks.”
The family also thanked him for the support received by him: “We thank you for respecting your love, support and our privacy because we mourn and celebrate his beautiful, extraordinary life.”

Ariana Grande paid tribute to her grandmother with a black and white photo to her late husband Frank Grande from Marjori’s wedding. The singer captioned the emotional Instagram post with just one word: “forever.”
Marjori Grande, known as ‘Nona’, had a close relationship with the pop star and played a special role in her life and career. She appeared on stage with Ariana in 2018, a female performance with Joan and her cousin Lani during her God.
Ariana’s brother Frankie Grande also shared her love for her grandmother with a moving Instagram post. “I love you, my dear nanna,” he wrote. “I remember you can catch more than words. My heart is shattered, but I think you are looking at me, whatever I have already done, it is already proud of it and all that is going to come.” Frankie included pictures and memories that captured his bond and showed special relations with Marjori.
Marjori Grande was not just a family person; He also left an impression on Ariana’s music heritage. At the age of 98, she became the oldest person to appear on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to her features on the Track Ordinary Things from Ariana’s Anant Sunshine Album, which began at number 55 in April 2024.
Ariana celebrated the moment on Instagram, wrote: “One and only, celebrating the most beautiful Nona, who now made history to be a senior person who appears on @Billboard Hot100. We love and thank you.”
Marjori was often seen supporting Ariana’s work. When the wicked was released in 2024, Ariana flew to her hometown in Florida’s Boca Ratton to watch the film with her grandmother. Marjori is survived by her daughters Joan and Judy, her grandchildren Ariana, Franky and a legacy of Lani and love that continues through her family’s memories and music.
