Diwali 2024 Special: How to make Lachha Rabri for celebrations

The festive season is here, and we are marking a series of festivals one after the other. After Navratri, Durga Puja, Dussehra and Karva Chauth, we are now ready to celebrate one of the biggest festivals of the year – Diwali. This year, Diwali is on October 31, 2024; Meaning, we have only a few days left for preparation. In fact, if you look around, you will find people decorating their homes with lamps, flowers and rangoli to celebrate the festival of lights with utmost grandeur. Another thing that plays a major role during Diwali is food.

During this time of the year, our kitchen pantries are filled with a variety of sweets. From soan papdi to barfi, rasmalai and more, the list of popular festive sweets is really long. And if you ask us, we love to eat it all, keeping our diet thoughts aside. While some of these sweet treats are purchased from favorite sweet shops in the city, some are made at home. Here, we bring you a delicious sweet recipe that will instantly touch your heart. It is called Lachha Rabri. Cooked to perfection with creamy milk, dry fruits and a few spices, Lachha Rabdi defines indulgence. And the best part is that you can make it at home in less than half an hour. sounds perfect; Isn’t it? So, without any further delay, let us tell you about the Lachha Rabdi recipe. Check it out.

How to make Lachha Rabdi:

To make Lachha Rabdi, you will need full cream milk, khoya, sugar, ghee, cardamom powder, rose essence and chopped pistachios.

Start by boiling milk in a thick bottomed pan. Boil it until its quantity reduces to half. Then add grated khoya to it and keep stirring continuously. Now add some ghee and sugar and cook for about 10 minutes. Keep the flame low.

When the milk starts thickening, turn off the flame and add cardamom powder and rose essence to it. Bring the rabri to room temperature and then, keep it in the refrigerator until it sets well.

Finally, garnish with chopped pistachios and serve; And you have a bowl of delicious Lachha Rabdi ready to enjoy.
