Discussion: Suriya-led Vaadivasal with Vetrimaaran to be made as a trilogy; Is shooting likely to increase for each installment?

Suriya and director Vetrimaaran have been in the news for a long time as both of them announced their collaboration in the past. Now, it looks like his film Vaadivasal is going to be a trilogy, with the story spanning across three parts.

According to a report in Valai Pachu, the director has written the script of Vaadivasal in such a way that it will require 3 installments to complete. Furthermore, reports also suggest that the film will be shot in an extended manner, which is a common standard in Vetrimaaran films.

However, this is just talk right now, as the makers have not made an official announcement yet. Interestingly, in a recent interview with Behindwoods TV, the film’s producer himself clarified the speculations about the film’s progress.

In the interview, the filmmaker revealed that Suriya is all set to start shooting for the film as he was only waiting for director Vetrimaaran to complete Viduthalai Part 2. The shooting of Vaadivasal will begin as soon as the director releases the Vijay Sethupathi-Suri starrer. At the right time.

Additionally, the producer revealed that pre-production work on the film has been underway for some time with an animatronic bull. Bull is currently in the final stages of development in London.

For those who don’t know, let us tell you that Vaadivasal is a revenge film, which will be directed by Vetrimaaran and stars Suriya in the lead role. The film tells a story set against the backdrop of the bull taming festival in Tamil Nadu.

The story focuses on Picchi and Marudan, two men who participate in the annual bull-taming (Jallikattu) festival in the village of Periyapatti. The duo’s goal is to tame a ferocious bull that defeated Pichichi’s father in the past.

Moving on, director Vetrimaaran recently hit the big screen with the film Viduthalai Part 2. The film focuses on the conflict between the leader of an extremist political group and a newly appointed police constable.

On the other hand, Suriya is all set to hit the big screen with the film Retro in the summer of 2025. The romantic action flick is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and stars Pooja Hegde in the lead role.
