Director Remo D’Souza’s wife says false picture is being presented on fraud claim

“This press note is issued solely for the limited purpose of clarifying queries received relating to media reports regarding alleged fraud committed by M/s Remo D’Souza Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (‘RDEPL’) in respect of dance group (Vunbeatable) It appears that due to some vested interests a wrong and false picture is being presented as if Mr. Remo D’Souza and other directors/partners of our company-RDPL are indulging in acts of fraud and misappropriation in this regard. Would like to say that it has come to our notice that an FIR has been lodged at the Mira Road Police Station against seven persons, including Mr. Remo D’Souza and Mrs. Liezel D’Souza, at the instance of Mr. Veeragovindam Navrottam, Director of RDEPL (sic),’ ‘It is written in the note.

Further, the statement said, “The said informant has filed a petition before the Honorable High Court claiming that the police is not taking cognizance of the complaint lodged by him against Mr. Omprakash Chauhan and others. We would like to state that RDPL and its directors have no connection with the alleged fraud of Rs 11.96 crore.”
“The said allegations have clearly been leveled against Mr. Omprakash Chauhan, who was a member/co-founder of the same dance group and his associates, who have filed a writ before the Hon’ble High Court seeking appropriate directions against the group manager Mr. Mahesh. The petition is also pending before the Hon’ble High Court against the judge Remo D’Souza of a dance reality show named ‘Dance Plus’. Were (sic),” it added.
The note then gave details about an agreement between the Vunbeatable dance group and a production company, RDEPL, to produce a motion picture based on the group’s journey.
It also addressed the dispute that had arisen between the group members and Mr. Om Prakash Chauhan, one of the group leaders. Additionally, the statement also clarified some of the allegations made against choreographer Remo D’Souza.
Based on a complaint by a 26-year-old dancer, a The case was registered at Mira Road police station in Mumbai On October 16, a case was registered against Remo, his wife Liezel and five others under sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating), and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, a police officer said.
According to the FIR, the complainant and his troupe were allegedly defrauded between 2018 and July 2024.
