Director Remo D’Souza, wife react to cheating allegations: It’s disappointing
Film director and choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Liezel have denied defrauding a dance group of Rs 11.96 crore and urged the public not to spread rumours. They plan to share their side of the story soon.
Choreographer-director Remo D’Souza and his wife Liesel have issued a statement Accused of cheating a dance group Rs 11.96 crore including others. The couple have requested people not to spread rumors “before ascertaining the true facts”. He also said that he would present his side of the story soon.
The statement shared on Remo and Liezel’s Instagram account read, “It has come to our notice through media reports that certain complaints have been filed alleging fraud in relation to a certain dance troupe. This is disappointing. That such information has been published, we will.” I would like to request everyone to avoid spreading rumors before ascertaining the true facts.”
He added, “We will present our case at the appropriate time and will continue to cooperate with the authorities in every possible way, as we have done so far.”

Remo, who Has directed the Salman Khan-led film Race 3.The statement concluded by thanking his family, friends and fans for supporting him and Liesel during the difficult time.
Based on the complaint of the 26-year-old dancer, a case was registered against Remo, his wife Liezel and five others under sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating) at Mumbai’s Mira Road police station on October 16. Other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, a police officer said.
According to the FIR, the complainant and his troupe were allegedly defrauded between 2018 and July 2024.
Remo, popular for judging TV dance reality shows like Dance India Dance and Dance Plus, has also directed the dance franchise ABCD including Street Dancer starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.
