Director Martin Scorsese on his retirement plans after Sinatra biopic
Acclaimed director Martin Scorsese recently revealed about his retirement plans. Earlier reports had claimed that the director intended to retire after completing the Frank Sinatra biopic.

Acclaimed director Martin Scorsese has no plans to retire any time soon. Earlier, there were reports that the filmmaker will bid goodbye to the world of cinema after completing his much-awaited Frank Sinatra biopic.
However, speaking to World of Reel, Scorsese said, “I have no intention of retiring. The movie about Frank Sinatra has just been postponed while I’m working on the one about Jesus. I hope so. That God will give me the strength and money to accomplish them.”
In May, Scorsese revealed that he was inspired to make a film about Jesus Christ and spoke about it at the Berlin Film Festival, “I’m thinking about it right now. What kind of film would I make?” Not sure about it, but I want to make something unique and different that’s thought-provoking, and I hope it’s also entertaining. I’m just not sure how to do it yet.”
Scorsese said he came up with the idea after meeting Pope Francis.
“Maybe I’ll sleep for a while and then wake up and have this new idea of how to do it. The possibilities of making a film, the concept of Jesus, the idea of Jesus really stem from my background growing up on the Lower East Side, my interest in Catholicism, my interest in priesthood, which really, I think, ultimately led to the film Silence. Took till. ,” Scorsese said.
Scorsese last directed the Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer Killers of the Flower Moon.
