Director Buchi Babu says that Ram Charan’s ‘peddi’ is a mixture of real and fictional stories
Director Buchi Babu Sana revealed that ‘Peddi’ starring Ram Charan is inspired by real -life events established with rooted feelings in a village. He confirmed that Charan approved the script in a single meeting, marking the beginning of his cooperation.

Ram Charan and Buchi Babu Sana’s Pan-India Sports Drama ‘Peddi’ has been making headlines since its announcement, recently with the title and the rugged look of Ram Charan is to be added to anticipation. Ruchi forward, director Buchi Babu Sana recently revealed that the film is a mixture of real and fictional village-based stories.
In an interview with FilmfareBuchi Babu shared, “The film is a combination of real and imaginary stories from a village. I always desire to tell stories that are vested because I think more people can resonance with the main feelings and events.”
The first glimpse of ‘Paddi’ released on Ram Navami has gone viral. Ram Charan’s rustic makeover and standout cricket shot have created a wave of reactions. The teaser opens with a dusty walking on a dusty ground with stage, illuminating a BD, and says, “I have only one life to live, and I want to take maximum advantage of it.” This breaks a cricket ball with him, which increases fan expectations. Teaser also confirmed the release date of the film, March 27, 2026.
The director revealed that he wrote the story during the Kovid -19 lockdown and first narrated it to filmmaker Sukumar, who then encouraged him to pitch Ram Charan. He said, “Charan Garu already corrected the script with small reforms. And the rest, as they say, there is history,” he said.

‘Peddi’, which marks the 16th film of Ram Charan, has music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Rathanvelu. Artists of artists contingent include Janhvi Kapoor, Shiv Rajkumar, Divyendu and Jagapati Babu. The film is jointly produced by Mythri filmmakers, old cinema and Sukumar writing.
Kannada star Shiv Rajkumar, who recently recovered from cancer, is ready to join the shoot soon. The team has already wrapped two schedules and is gearing up for the next stage of production.
