Director Anubhav Sinha slammed a journalist when he asked about the controversy surrounding his latest directorial venture ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’. At a press conference held in Mumbai on Tuesday, September 3, Anubhav refused to answer the reporter and asked him to watch the show first.
When Anubhav Sinha was asked about the ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ controversy, he lost his cool and refused to answer the question. However, when the journalist kept asking questions, Sinha got annoyed and asked back, “Have you seen the series?” and then walked away.

Amid the controversy over the web-series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’, Netflix content head Monica Shergill issued a statement saying that the new opening disclaimer has been updated and it includes the real and code names of the hijackers.
Their full statement read, “For the benefit of viewers unfamiliar with the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814, the initial disclaimer has been updated to include the real and code names of the hijackers. The code names in the series reflect the names used during the actual incident.”
The series, starring Vijay Verma in the lead, has been facing severe criticism and a section of the audience is disappointed with it. Many have accused the makers of ‘hiding’ the kidnapping incident and using the names ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar’ for the kidnappers.
Apart from Vijay Verma, the series also stars Patralekha, Dia Mirza, Pankaj Kapoor, Arvind Swami and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles. The series was released on Netflix earlier this week.
