Actor Deepika Chikhalia recently reacted to Arun Govil’s casting in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’. He played the role of Dasharatha in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi-Star Epic, emphasizing the notion of his ‘Ramayana’ co-star.
Chikhlia, recently in an interview The Times of IndiaThe on-screen image of the village was reflected as he played Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 television show. He said, “I don’t know to see him in a role other than Ram.”
The ‘Ramayana’ actor further said, “I mean, see – I have seen him as Rama and I have seen myself as Sita. Dasharatha is really out of a little context for me to see her. But then I think it is really his choice. It’s very personal that people feel that it is very personal. It is very difficult that you play Ram.
Chikhaliya also said that after portraying Goddess Sita on-screen, it would be challenging for her to play any other ‘Ramayana’ character. “I was never contacted. I think they have not bothered to talk to me about it. Once I played Sita, I don’t think I can play any other character in the Ramayana. This is something that I am not sure,” she left.
“If I was doing something in ‘Mahabharata’ or ‘Shiva Purana’, I could still give it an idea, but not in the film ‘Ramayana’,” the actor said.
