Singer-actor-actor Diljit Dosanj has been allegedly converted into ‘Border 2’ amid a controversy around his film ‘Sardar G3’, which faced a backlash for Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. A source close to the film today told India that, seeing ‘Border 2’, the Indian Army has been focused on, so the manufacturers felt that the actor would not be suitable for the role.

Sources further said that Dosanj is likely to be replaced by actor Ammi Virk in the upcoming war drama.

However, manufacturers have not yet confirmed the developments.

“Looking at the ‘Border 2’ focus on the Indian Army, the producers felt that the presence of a Punjabi actor would not be suitable. They did not even want the whole controversy to dilute the film and its promotion. The team would shoot the part again that will soon shoot Diljit,” the source said.

Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President BN Tiwari said that while the manufacturers have not yet officially reported the removal of Diljit, this is the only way. “If the team continues shooting with Diljit, it will show how they are supporting her cause,” he said.

India has reached T-series and producer Raha Dutta today, but has not yet received the response.

Earlier, FWICE issued strong statements, demanding ‘Border 2’ manufacturers demanding them.

Earlier, Diljit shared a video on Instagram in which he warmly welcomed the set of ‘Border 2’. The makers also shared a picture of the entire artists.

The battle drama, which is the sequel to the 1997 hit film ‘Border’, is scheduled for the Republic Day weekend release on 23 January next year. The film also stars Varun Dhawan and Ahaan Shetty in the headlines by actor Sunny Deol.
