Diljit Dosanj says that Shakira’s wardrobe malfunction affected his Met Gala entry
Diljit Dosanjh recently opened up about Shakira’s unexpected wardrobe malfunction, before his meeting this year before Gala’s appearance. In a newly released Youtube Vlog, the singer shared the moments behind his debut in the prestigious program.

Diljit Dosanjh revealed how the issue of singer Shakira’s last -minute wardrobe was delayed in the Met Gala 2025 incident earlier this month. The singer-actor made a surprising start in Gala this year, which was headed by a Regal Maharaja-inspired dress designed by Prabal Gurung. Last night, the singer-actor made fans for a video of a rear scenes, which presents a glimpse in their preparation for the biggest night of fashion, capturing everything from the cupboard testing to the chaos of the final-mint.
In a 13 -minute video, the audience prepares Diljit and his team for the event – trying to stay in shape a day earlier, working to stay in shape, and navigate a major red carpet moment. Prior to the incident, Diljit shared in an interview that his goal was to demonstrate Punjabi culture on a global stage. “I am trying to bring Punjab to Met Gala Red Carpet,” he said.
For his Met Gala debut, Diljit wore a turban as part of a look inspired by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, former ruler of Patiala. His dress was embroidered with a map of Punjab and a surprising diamond-and-armed necklace reminiscent of the Maharaja’s cartier collection.
With this appearance, Diljit became the first turban artist to participate in Met Gala, giving a powerful statement in both fashion and cultural representation.
