The Internet was shocked when people learned that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Jay-Z were allegedly involved in a rape case that took place in 2000. Now, the Run This Town rapper faced failure as he attempted to bring this matter to an end.
According to reports, a federal judge rejected Jay-Z’s attempt to have the case dismissed on Thursday. According to the report, his attempt to make Jane Doe’s true identity public and speed up the entire case was rejected by Judge Annalisa Torres.
Pointing to the “importance of factors”, including the “highly sensitive and extremely personal” nature of the plaintiffs’ claims, the judge concluded that the context of the case “tends to favor allowing the plaintiffs to remain anonymous.” , at least for this stage of the litigation,” according to the outlet.
According to the publication’s article, Judge Torres also acknowledged that opinions about anonymity could change later, depending on where the case goes and where the evidence leads.
For those unaware, Diddy was named in a lawsuit filed on October 20, accusing him of allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in the year 2000 after the MTV VMAs. The filing also included a male ‘Celebrity A’ and a female ‘Celebrity B’ as rape partners, and an amended complaint dated December 8 mentioned the Song Cry singer by name Celebrity A, but so far , Celebrity B has not been revealed as of Deadline.
