According to Chosun Biz, Lee Chong told reporters in Seoul that Samsung was creating a massive production of the OLED foldable display for a “North American customer”. Chong did not give any further details about the client or device, for which it will be used.
It is widely estimated that this customer will be apple. Apple is rumored to launch a foldable iPhone next year. Cupertino giants are also the largest phonemaker in North America. The only remarkable name is left for Google North American smartphone makers.
According to Lee Chong, Samsung will provide the 8.6th generation OLED panel to the client when production begins in the third quarter next year. It is believed that the new generation panels are concerned about production compared to the current 6th generation panels.
