Did Prince William win Kate Middleton over by receiving an Air Force title? What do the reports on the visit to the RAF base say?

Date:

Prince William is returning to his public engagements at horse speed, as royal members mark their visit to the RAF base where the future monarch received his wings in 2008, accompanied by his then-girlfriend Kate Middleton.

The Prince’s visit to the air force base comes after Middleton announced she is stopping chemotherapy treatments. The Prince of Wales visited the base on behalf of his father for the Sovereign’s Parade at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

Meanwhile, Prince William also left for Wales on September 10, after Princess Kate shared a personal video on Kensington Palace’s official account detailing her nine months of cancer treatment.

As for the Duke of Cornwall, he has reduced his appearances and taken on fewer public duties over the past few months in order to be available to his wife at all times.

However, with Middleton expected to make a speedy recovery, William has planned a schedule for this week in which he will go on a few outings. He will visit Cape Town and will also travel to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize in November.

This time, the Prince will go on the trip without Middleton.

As part of his visit to the RAF base, William received the royal salute and inspected the guard ranking from the front on September 12. At the ceremony, 48 cadets received their officer warrants by completing their Modular Officer Course.

Officers joined the cadet training from countries such as Jordan, Kenya, Pakistan and Uganda.

Speaking in a video shared by Wells, Middleton revealed the ups and downs of her cancer diagnosis and her treatment.

In the heartwarming video, the Princess of Wales shared, “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for our family. As you know, life can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate stormy waters and unknown roads.”

He further added, “The cancer journey is complicated, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. While humbling, it also makes you face vulnerabilities you never considered before, and with that comes a new perspective on everything.”

The princess also revealed that she is looking forward to taking on more royal duties in the days to come.

The Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis to the public in March 2022.
