Did Chris Hemsworth and Drew Barrymore bump into each other at the hair salon? Know what the actors said about each other

Must read

Chris Hemsworth and Drew Barrymore had an awkward encounter that left both actors terrified. During the Marvel actor’s appearance on the latter’s episode, The Drew Barrymore Show, the talk show host recalled their meeting at a hair salon nearly a decade ago.

The Australian actor also remembered the incident and laughed out loud. He also claimed that the two were too scared to introduce each other.

In a conversation with the Extraction actor, Barrymore shared the humorous incident as she asked, “Was this about 10 years ago?” and the actor quipped, “Was it at the hair salon?”

The Avengers star, barely controlling his laughter, said, “It’s funny; I was either getting my hair tipped and dyed blonde or getting it black for a movie.” The actor later recalled that he was getting his hair styled for the character of Nick Hathaway, which he played in the film Blackhat.

Meanwhile, the First 50 Days alum said, “I’m not kidding, I was so nervous to walk up to you.” She further confessed, “The whole hour or two I was sitting there, I was thinking, ‘I just want to meet Chris Hemsworth. I just want to meet him and say hi.'”

Hemsworth revealed he was equally nervous to approach Barrymore, as he said, “I was thinking the same thing.” Barrymore immediately exclaimed in surprise, “No.”

“Absolutely! Are you kidding?” Hemsworth added, “I thought, ‘She’s not going to know who I am and it’s going to be weird. I’ll be like a crazy fan.'”

Meanwhile, the actress also claimed, “I was trying to be respectful. Of course, I was nervous the whole time.”

In one of the previous interviews, the actor had revealed that his kids love the iconic character of Thor, which Hemsworth plays in the Marvel movies.

On the work front, the Australian actor will likely return to the role in the upcoming Avengers films, Doomsday and Secret Wars. The actor also reprised his character for a brief cameo in Marvel’s latest releases, Deadpool and Wolverine.

The Avengers movies will hit theaters in May 2026 and May 2027, respectively.
