Diana Penty reflects on age in Bollywood, women are playing the role of mothers in their 30s

Actor Diana Penty discussed the attitude of the film industry towards women actors who played mothers in the 30s. He said how women are often inserted as mothers of many children in the 30s.

The actor referred to the industry’s attention on the look of women rather than his abilities. He shared his strategy to deal with these established criteria.

Diana, in an interview Hindustan Times Said, “When you are offered on stage, for example, adjectives are always ‘most surprising’, ‘most beautiful’. It lacks depth. It is great that people are getting humble and praising your look. But, as a woman, as a woman, you hope that it is beyond her.”

He further said, “You hope that as an actor, you can be known not only for him, but also for your craft and your performance. There is a lot for us. It is only great, stunning, or unholy to be called great, but not enough.”

The ‘Do You Want Partner’ actor also highlighted how women actors fight the status quo. Diana said, “This is not a fight, but there is something that we do not bother. In a period of time it has come to accept that it is the same. It is working for everyone.”

“So, it’s almost like, you are who are to interfere in that process? I have never fought it, but took my decisions whether I want to be a part of something like this or not. It is the best way to deal with it,” he said.

Diana’s new series ‘Do You Wana Partner’, also included actors Tamannaah Bhatia, Jafri, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi and other lead roles.

Directed by Colin D’Kunha and Archit Kumar, the upcoming web series are written by Nandini Gupta, Arash Vora and Mithun Gongopadhyay, and are created by Gongopadhyay and Nishant Nayak.

The show is co-produced by executives produced by Karan Johar, other Poonwal and Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra and Archit Kumar.
