Diana Paint says she was dropped from Rockstar after workshops, later received the cocktail
Actor Diana Paint said in an interview that she was dismissed for Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Rockstar’ before making her debut with ‘Cocktail’. He was removed from the film after two to three weeks of workshops.

Actor Diana Penty was initially approached for ‘Rockstar’ (2011), before the role finally went to her contemporary Nargis Fakhri. She was speaking in an interview when she said that she had also started training for Imtiaz Ali direction, but was released after two to three weeks of workshops. Interestingly, Bhumika went to Diana when she was still working as a model and she did not do any film.

Diana admitted that the films were never on her radar as she had never taken any formal training in acting. He said, “I never believed that I could be an actor one day. I never believe that I would ever be able to pull it.” This is when the director encouraged him to participate in workshops, he shared.
“After 2-3 weeks, he said, ‘Look, I can see that you have gone a long way and I have seen a lot of improvement, but I still don’t think you are ready to play the character in’ Rockstar ‘. Maybe, maybe, it’s very soon for you,” Diana said. He said that the shooting was about to start in a month, and even felt that she was not ready. “I was relieved because I could not believe. So I went back to New York and continued with my modeling,” he shared.
A year later, Diana received a call for ‘Cocktail’ and revealed that the film’s script was written by Imtiaz. Interestingly, it was Imtiaz who suggested Dinesh Vijan, director of ‘Cocktail’, that it would be perfect for Meera’s role. He also remembered to receive a confirmation call exactly 24 hours after his audition.
