Dia Mirza Rekhi, famous for her roles in classic films like ‘Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein’, is celebrating her husband Vaibhav Rekhi’s birthday with joy and affection. She shared never-seen-before pictures of the couple on social media, along with a heartfelt message expressing her pride and love. “Giving you more of my love. You deserve it. You work so hard,” she wrote.
Today (August 21), on Instagram, Dia Mirza Rekhi wished her husband a happy birthday. She wrote an emotional note, which read, “Happy birthday, husband. You are always there for everyone you love and for many more… spreading happiness, sharing your passion, your joy and effortlessly making the world a kinder place.” She further encouraged him to take a moment to appreciate himself, acknowledging his hard work. Her message expressed her deep love and pride towards his remarkable man, reflecting their strong bond and admiration.
Dia Mirza Rekhi also shared several pictures on social media on the occasion. In the first picture, Vaibhav Rekhi is seen posing with sunglasses while boating. In the second picture, Dia is seen hugging him warmly in what looks like a safari, with Vaibhav holding the camera. The carousel includes a childhood picture of her stepdaughter Samaira with Vaibhav, a picture of her son Avyaan and a family portrait with them.
Earlier, in an interview with News18, Dia shared that her stepdaughter Samaira calls her by her first name, as she already has a mother, whom she calls ‘Mamma’. Dia mentioned that because of this, her three-year-old son Avyaan also calls her by her first name sometimes, which she finds amusing. Dia revealed that she does not expect Samaira to call her ‘Maa’ or ‘Mamma’. She said, “She has not called me Maa. There is no expectation of her calling me ‘Maa’, ‘Mamma’ or ‘Mother’. She has a mother, whom she calls ‘Mamma’ or ‘Mom’. She calls me ‘Diya’.” The actress also added that Avyaan sometimes calls her ‘Diya Mom’.
Talking about work, Dia Mirza is going to be seen in the much-awaited series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Based on the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC 814 in 1999, the series stars many great actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Verma, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Arvind Swami, Pankaj Kapoor and Patralekha. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, known for impressive dramas like Mulk, Thappad, Article 15 and Bhed, this mini-series is his OTT debut. IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is set to premiere on Netflix India on August 29.
