One of the turning points for Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh) stalwart Comes during the wedding sequence where he fails to protect Rehman, the dacoit’s elder son, Naeem. Hamza’s only way out in Rehman’s gang is to save his child’s life, as members of rival Babu Dacoit’s gang are plotting to murder the boy at the wedding. However, things go horribly wrong.
During an open shootout, Rehman’s elder son, Naeem Baloch, was shot dead. In the film, Hamza is shown as making every effort to protect the child. Despite Naeem’s death, Hamza managed to gain Rehman’s trust because, while he failed to save the elder son, he succeeded in ensuring that nothing happened to Rehman’s younger child Faisal. According to this theory, Hamza deliberately sacrificed one child in order to create a stronger perception of loyalty, making it appear that he tried to save both, while ultimately protecting only one.
An ex user sparked debate by posting, “Strange that people are now realizing that Hamza killed Rehman dacoit’s elder son after watching Dhurandhar again. I saw it for the first time in theatres.” The post quickly gained popularity and was loved by audiences across various platforms. A Reddit user shared a screenshot of the speculation, dismissing the theory, writing, “Even Aditya Dhar didn’t know this”.
Others immediately rejected the idea altogether. One user argued, “No matter what, they will never show an Indian agent killing a child or teenager who is not directly involved in the conflict.”
Reactions on Instagram were equally polarized.
