Dhurandhar The Revenge Box Office Collection: Ranveer Singh’s film earns Rs. It grossed $678 million worldwide and over US$21 million overseas in its opening weekend.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge collected USD 21.25 million (Rs 200 crore) in its extended first weekend overseas. In the traditional weekend frame, i.e. Friday–Sunday, the film collected US$15.80 million, the third highest opening for a Bollywood film after Pathan (US$17 million) and Jaawaan (US$16.50 million). However, they brought a large contribution from the Middle East, where Dhurandhar has not been released. In the same set of markets, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the biggest opener so far, beating Pathan and Jawan by 30 and 44 percent respectively.

Combined with Rs. Around Rs 478 crore from India, the worldwide box office collection of the Ranveer Singh starrer is Rs. Approximately 678 crores. Again, these are all records for the Hindi film industry as the film has made a historic debut and of course, there is still more to come. What needs to be said is that in India, we have films that have actually done something even better than what Dhurandhar: The Revenge has done in the past. However, the business the film has done overseas is unprecedented for Indian cinema.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has broken all the opening records in all the major markets, United States, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom and that too by a wide margin. The top market is the United States, with US$9.65 million in four days and previews, which is higher than Pathan’s US$6.64 million. One minor drawback is the lack of Baahubali 2’s record of US$10 million and US$10.30 million, which it actually came close to, but capacity issues made it fall short. Although it missed the record in terms of money and ticket sales, Dhurandhar: The Revenge beats Baahubali 2 by almost 50 percent.

In Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has set opening records not only for Bollywood but also for Indian cinema. The way the first two are going, they will obliterate the absolute run record held by their predecessors by the end of the second weekend. Australia can do this even a day or two earlier. It will be interesting to see what kind of standards the film sets.

The film also created an opening record in Germany by beating ‘Pathan’. Traditionally, this was an exclusive market of Shah Rukh Khan, where even his flops earned as much as the biggest blockbusters. Recently, the market has grown very well and other films are also doing good business. Breaking Shahrukh Khan’s opening record here is very special. In addition, several other smaller markets posted record or near-record numbers.

Looking ahead, the film is almost certain to reach USD 40 million overall, at the high end, one can think of USD 45 million or thereabouts. Jawan and Pathan hold the record for the highest overseas earnings without China, with both earning around US$48 million. With some more exposure, Dhurandhar: The Revenge might also have a chance. Of course, if one excludes the Middle East, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be way ahead of both of them.
