The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Manav Gohil. Ranveer plays Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who infiltrates the Baloch gangs operating in the Lyari region of Pakistan. Akshaye Khanna appears as Rahman Dacoit, the formidable leader of the gang. The story takes inspiration from real-life events including the Kandahar hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks.
