Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues to register another solid day in pre-sales. As of 11 pm (March 16), the spy action drama sold around 2.40 lakh tickets across the top two national chains, PVRINOX and Cinepolis, for the opening day. The previews have touched the 3.40 lakh sales mark, which means the total pre-sale of Dhurandhar 2 has recorded around 5.80 lakh admissions on the first day, including paid previews.
With two more days left for previews, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to cross the 4 lakh ticket sales mark before Wednesday evening. The opening day pre-sales are expected to be between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, which would place it among the biggest advance sales ever for a Bollywood film in the national chains.
For the record, Pathan currently holds the record for the biggest pre-sales at PIC, selling over 5.45 lakh tickets on the opening day. Since the Ranveer Singh starrer film is quite frontloaded, it may lag a little behind ‘Pathan’. However, if previews were also included it would easily exceed that figure. The overall record is held by Avengers: Endgame, which bombed with sales of over a million.
Based on current trends, the preview is priced at Rs. 30 crore nett, based on the final bounce and walkup on Wednesday, they will probably exceed Rs. 35 crore nett, possibly Rs. Close to. Net of 40 crores also. The film has the potential to earn more than Rs 1 crore.
