Dharmendra’s ashes immersed at Har Ki Paadi in Haridwar, family kept secret
The ashes of great actor Dharmendra were immersed in the Ganga at Har Ki Paur in Haridwar. The rituals were performed by his grandchildren. The family maintained complete secrecy during the ceremony.

The ashes of legendary actor Dharmendra were immersed in the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar with full Vedic rituals on Wednesday morning. The ceremony was performed by the actor’s grandchildren a day after the family reached Haridwar.
Dharmendra’s sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol along with four other family members reached Haridwar on Tuesday and stayed at Pilibhit House. The immersion ceremony was kept completely private, with the family maintaining distance from the media throughout.

Speaking to the media after the ceremony, pilgrimage priest Pandit Rahul said, “Dharmendra ji’s ashes were brought to Haridwar today. We are the traditional priests of his family, and he has been visiting us for many years. The family was staying in a private hotel, from where we took the ashes to Har Ki Pauri for immersion. After the immersion, the family took a traditional Ganga bath, prayers and aarti.”
He said six members of the Deol family were present: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Sunny’s sons Karan and Abhay, and Bobby’s two sons.
Dharmendra died on 24 November in Mumbai. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and six children – actors Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, Ajita and Vijeta.
