On the first day of Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan, a video from the first show is going viral on social media. The video, shot at Rohini Theater in Chennai, shows the superstar’s family members enjoying the movie together. The footage also shows Rajinikanth’s former son-in-law Dhanush and his son Yatra inside the same theatre.

Others seen in the video include Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth, daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth, nephew Anirudh Ravichander, who also composed the music of Vettaiyaan, and his father Ravi Raghavendra. Tamil director and screenwriter Magizh Thirumeni and actor Dushara Vijayan are also seen in the clip.

Directed by TJ Ganewal, the film has received mixed responses from audiences and critics. It is an investigative drama that reunites Rajinikanth with Amitabh Bachchan on screen after a gap of 30 years. The two superstars were last seen together in the 1994 film Hum.

Meanwhile, while reviewing the film, IndiaToday.in gave it 2.5 stars, and noted, “Though TJ Gnanavelle gets many moments right, the film’s haphazard screenplay and predictability let it down. The initial few moments of the film Minutes are a perfect example of this.” Bad editing can harm the film. Scenes set in different areas follow one after another. Unless it settles into a linear format, the script distracts you and smacks of immaturity.

Vettaiyaan also stars Rana Daggubati and Fahadh Faasil in important roles. It is supported by Laika Productions.
