Nayanthara’s recent open letter has sparked controversy when she criticized Dhanush for filing a Rs 10 crore lawsuit against her Netflix documentary. The disagreement focuses on a 3-second behind-the-scenes clip from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which appears in the trailer of Nayanthara’s upcoming film. Now Dhanush’s lawyer has spoken on this issue and his statement is going viral on social media.

The statement issued by Dhanush’s lawyer read, “My client is the producer of the film and he knows where he has spent every single penny for the production of the film and your client has said that my client has not given any information to any person. Is not assigned to shoot from behind.” The visual footage and the said statement are baseless and your client has been provided with rigorous evidence of the same.”

Dhanush’s lawyer further said that his client found the opposition’s arguments vague as it claimed that the BTS footage belonged to the person who recorded it. He further said that the clip belonged to his client as the producer of the film.

Dhanush’s lawyer advised the opposing party to remove the material infringing his client’s copyright on the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. He said that if the clip is not removed, his client will be forced to take appropriate legal action. The lawsuit will include a claim for damages of Rs 10 crore against both the opposite party and Netflix India.

“Advise your client to remove the material infringing my client’s copyright on the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan by using it in your client’s documentary titled Nayanthara Beyond the Fairytale within 24 hours, failing which my client will be subject to appropriate legal action Will be forced to initiate action, including but not limited to seeking damages of Rs 10 crore against your client and Netflix India,” the note concluded.
