‘Dhadak 2’ is based on the story of Nilash, a student of a Dalit law, and he has a romantic complication with an upper-caste family classmate, Vidhi. The film, a remake of the Tamil film ‘Paryum Perumal,’, detected the social obstacles faced by the couple, who often focus on the topic that is not included in the mainstream Bollywood films.
Anurag Kashyap appreciated the film for bringing back the “mainstream films of social relevance”, a quality believes that he has been neglected. He said that such narratives have been re -established for independent art house products, while ‘Dhadak 2’ revives the tradition of socially aware story.
