Devra starring NTR Jr, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan is finally set to release in theaters in just a few hours. The film marked the return of NTR Jr. to the screen after SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR.
While Devara pre-sales are going well in the South region, they have been a bit slow in the North region. The action-drama directed by Koratala Siva has sold around 19,000 tickets across the top three national chains – PVRinox and Cinepolis on the first day alone.
Devara Final Advance Booking in PIC ended at 19,000 tickets
Devara has seen slow pre-sales in the northern belt. The Koratala Siva directorial has sold a total of 19000 tickets across top multiplex chains till midnight (September 26) before the start of the first show. PVR Inox led the way with 15,000 tickets, followed by Cinepolis with 4000 tickets.
Talking about non-national series, Rajhans has sold around 1300 tickets while MovieMax has contributed 600 tickets to the total. So far, advance bookings for Devara in the Hindi dubbed version have remained good, although better reception was expected.
Devara Hindi relies on walk-ins to get off to slow start
Going by the advance booking response so far, Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starrer Devara is expecting a slow start at the box office. At present, the opening day collection in Hindi seems to be around Rs 5 crore to Rs 6 crore. However, this will largely depend on walk-ins.
Such large-scale commercial southern potboilers often start slow and operate on spot bookings. If the content appeals to the Hindi audience, the film is sure to grow in the long run. While Hindi pre-sales are at a low level, the film is doing wonders overseas and in the southern regions. Devara is expected to take a blockbuster opening of over Rs 80 crore at the worldwide box office and emerge as the biggest single opener of Jr NTR’s career.
