This weekend the film will have to face a big challenge from Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, it is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year and will pose a major threat to Devara’s smooth performance at the box office. However, despite the challenge, it is expected to easily cross the benchmark of Rs 250 crore in India and Rs 500 crore worldwide.
Whatever comes after that will obviously be a bonus. Devara is expected to gross around Rs 350 crore in India overall. It is already Jr NTR’s highest grossing solo film. Even Janhvi has not given any bigger hit than Devara till now. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan. Before Vettaiyan hits the screens as the big Dussehra release this year, it gets two more days of free screening at the ticket window.
