Devara actor Jr NTR: Have we forgotten how to enjoy films?
Jr NTR, in a recent interview during the promotions of Devara: Part 1, reflected on the changing mindset of the audience towards films and urged a return to the joy of cinema.

Jr. NTR, in a recent interview after the release of Devara: Part 1, expressed concern over how negative and critical the audience has become. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, has performed well at the box office, earning Rs 248.65 crore in its first 11 days in India, despite mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Jr NTR said, “As an audience we have become very negative these days. We are no longer able to enjoy the film in an innocent way.”
He compared the adult audience to his sons Abhay and Bhargav, who watch films without any judgement. “When I look at my sons, they don’t care which actor or which movie they are watching; They just enjoy movies. I wonder why we can’t be that innocent anymore?” He commented.

The actor said that many people now over-analyze films. “Today we are watching every film to analyze it. We are all constantly judging, analyzing, and overthinking about movies. Maybe our exposure to cinema has made us like this,” he explained. This shift from enjoying a film to criticizing it may reflect a change in the way audiences have evolved, where the fun of watching often gets lost in making judgments.
Jr NTR believes this trend may change with time, saying, “Maybe it’s all part of the cycle. All this can go to extremes or has already happened, and then, will recover on its own and come back to normal.
Devara: Part 1 released in theaters on 27th September and is still doing great in theatres. The film is heading towards earning Rs 500 crore worldwide. Jr NTR and Koratala Siva will resume work on Devara: Part 2 after taking a break.
