Dava hit the screen on 31 January 2025. Directed by Rosan Andrews, the action thriller included Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. The film is not able to produce too much business in two days. After a dull start at the box office, Dev is expecting a slight growth on the second day of his release.
Deva experiences minimum development on day 2; Weekend opening weekend looks weak
Supported by Zee Studios and Roy Kapoor Films, Deva opened at the box office for a lukewarm response, earning Rs 4.50 crore. On the second day, Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde-Starr are expected to show a minimum growth in their business. Going from his performance, the action thriller will face a brilliant early weekend, until it shows the spike in the collection on day 3.
Dev should witness a good walk-in booking on his first Sunday. Audiences, especially office gors, can bring some decent footfalls on holiday.
God Baton Meen Aisa Aisa Ulja is behind Jia
The initial performance of the deity does not look good for Shahid Kapoor, whose 2024 film, Terry Baton Meen Aisa Ulja Jia opened with a better business. Also starring Kriti Sanon, The Science Fiction romantic comedy film earned Rs 6.5 crore on the first day. At day 2, the semi-hit film increased its earnings by 40 percent with a net collection of Rs 9.5 crore.
Adaptation factor is one of the reasons that are not able to show miracles at the Deva box office. For Bin Bulaye, Shahid Kapoor-starrer Rawson is a Hindi conversion of Andrew’s Directory Enterprise Film, Mumbai Police. Prithviraj Sukumaran starred in the 2013 Malayalam film. Shahid has stepped into his shoes as a Fearless Cop, Dev Ambre.
Despite Shahid Kapoor’s strong presence, the deity lacks his attraction to have a good entry of the early weekends. Now, the action thriller needs some magic in the coming days. It will have to show its ability to compete strongly with the Sky Force.
