Delhi makes seller "Chocolate Paan Vada Pav"Angers Foodies

Vada pav is a favourite street food from Maharashtra that now has loyal fans across the country. Given its popularity, it is no surprise that street food vendors love to come up with fusion versions. However, some experiments can go too far and lose the essence of the dish. An example of this can be cited in a video that went viral recently. In the Instagram reel, we see a food vendor announcing that one cannot get a dish like this anywhere else in Delhi. She reveals that she is serving a sweet version of the vada pav, called the “chocolate paan vada pav”. She takes a pav and cuts it in half. She then shows the filling, which is put together in a box. The stuffing consists of cherries, chocolate paan, and gulkand. She layers them inside the cut pav, and calls the paan the “vada” for this dish.

Once it is ready, she says she is adding chocolate sauce instead of chutney to the “vada pav”. She starts adding the sauce inside and on top of the pav. She explains that it is later given a doughnut-like look. Watch the full video here:
