Delhi High Court tells petitioners to see 120 Bahadur before demanding change
Despite the objections of the United Ahir Regiment Morcha, the Delhi High Court has given permission to release the film ‘120 Bahadur’. The court ruled that it was too late to change the title of the film, but ensured that the names of all 120 Ahir soldiers appeared in the credits, allowing the correction for the OTT release.

Giving relief to Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘120 Bahadur’ on the eve of its release, Delhi High Court directed the petitioners demanding change of the name of the film to watch the film first.
A bench of Justices Pratibha M Singh and Shail Jain believed that “it is too late now to change the title of the film.”
The petition was filed by the Samyukta Ahir Regiment Morcha and its members, who argued that the war depicted in the film was fought by ‘Ahirs’. They sought two types of relief: that the names of all 120 soldiers who fought the war be mentioned at the end of the feature film, and that the title of the film be changed to ‘120 Veer Ahir’.
During the hearing, Morcha’s lawyer Gautam Jha expressed his desire not to press for the request for change in the title of the film.
Advocate Jai K Bhardwaj appearing for producer Excel Entertainment Private Limited. Ltd. submitted that with regard to the mention of names of Ahir soldiers, all 120 names have in fact been included as a tribute at the end of the feature film. A screenshot of one of the credit scenes was submitted to the court as an example and is part of the order.
The Court, noting that the film was scheduled to release on November 21, 2025 and it was too late to change the title, “tried to find an equitable solution to the issue that the petitioners are aggrieved by.” It directed the petitioners to watch the film to verify the names of 120 Ahir soldiers shown in the credits. If any improvements or modifications are required, they should be communicated to the producers, who will ensure that such changes are implemented for the OTT release. It was clarified that even for the OTT release, only the names of Ahir soldiers will be mentioned along with the correct regiment details.
‘120 Bahadur’ has been released in theaters today.
