Deepinder Goyal issues public call to all former Zomato employees: Come back home, we need you here
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has publicly invited former employees to return, saying Eternal has grown and needs people who already understand its culture as it builds its next phase.

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has issued a public call to former employees, inviting them to come back to the company for what he described as a new phase of growth under its parent group, Eternal. In a post shared publicly, Goyal said that the company is ready to welcome back former employees, including those who were earlier asked to leave.
Addressing former Zomato employees directly, Goyal admitted that the company may not have offered the right environment or leadership to everyone in the past. However, he said that many people who once worked at Zomato had a strong emotional connection with the company and may not have felt the same sense of belonging after leaving.
“If you worked at Zomato, whether you decided to move on, or it was I who asked you to leave, this is for you. I know that for many of you, Zomato didn’t have the environment, or the leadership, that you needed at that time. But I know for sure, that you loved being at Zomato, and it’s very likely that you never felt at home anywhere else after you left,” he said on Said.

Goyal said Eternal currently has more than 400 employees who are in their second or third tenure with the organization. According to him, many of these returnees are now giving their best work, which he attributed to both personal growth and changes within the company. He said that Eternal is now more organized and less chaotic than before, and said that he has also learned from earlier leadership experiences.
The Zomato founder said the invitation is open to all those who have not yet reached out because they assumed the door was closed or believe past differences still exist. He clarified that he is not dwelling on old issues and wants former employees to consider coming back.
Goyal also highlighted Eternal’s expansion into a suite of businesses, which now includes Zomato, Blinkit’s instant-commerce operations, Blinkit Ambulance, District, Hyperpure, Nugget and Feeding India. He said the group needs people who already understand the company culture and standards, especially those who have worked in the organization before and want to return.
Responding to concerns over leadership change, Goyal said his step down from the CEO role should not be seen as a hindrance. He said that titles have never meant much at Eternal and confirmed that he remains closely involved with the company.
