Deepika Padukone is very professional, but not very friendly: Gulshan Devaiah
Actor Gulshan Devaiah shares his experience of working with the ‘extremely professional’ Deepika Padukone on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela.
Actor Gulshan Devaiah, who was recently seen in the film ‘Uljhan’ starring Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, was just three years into his acting career when he shared the screen with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2013 film ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’. In a recent interview, Devaiah shared his experience of working with the “extremely professional” Deepika.
In a conversation on Filmigyan’s YouTube channel, Devaiah said, “I think this was the first time I worked with someone and I felt it was a professional actor (Deepika was there). She is very easy-going. She is friendly but not too friendly. She makes you feel comfortable but not in a way that you can become friends with her. There is a limit but it is also easy to work with. She is extremely hardworking.”
Later in the interview, Gulshan Devaiah admitted that he has a “biased” attitude towards Deepika because she comes from the same city as him. He said, “I am very biased about Deepika Padukone. She is from Bangalore, which is my city. I like her. You can’t say anything bad about her.”

Describing Ranveer Singh, Devaiah used adjectives like “a storehouse of energy” and “always upbeat” for him.
Earlier in an interview Bollywood HungamaGulshan Devaiah also talked about watching Ranveer and Deepika’s love story on the sets of ‘Ram-Leela’.
“During the first schedule, we didn’t see anything. But my second schedule was in Udaipur, and suddenly, I saw her sitting on my lap. I was like, when did this happen? I think Ranveer was fascinated by her from the beginning. I don’t know this for sure, but as far as I remember, he was very fascinated by her from the beginning. I think You must have followed with all your heart (He must have really pursued her)” said Devaiah.
