Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has expressed his disappointment over the lack of recognition for Indian films at the Oscar. In his latest Instagram post, Padukone said that India has been ignored several times, despite its rich cinematic heritage and talent in the industry.

Padukone, who made headlines at the 2023 Oscar, said that Indian films were eligible to win, but were robbed several times. Preparing Louis Wuiton show in Paris, he discussed the Academy Awards and recalled the ceremony when RRR won for the song Natu Natu.

Deepika Padukone said that she was happy to win the best actor for the cruelist at this year’s ceremony for actor Adrian Body.

Asked if any victory was personal for him, Padukone replied, “India has been looted many times. Many, many, many worthy films I feel that it is just snowdered. Whether his films or talent.”

Kalki 2898 advertising actor said, “But I remember that I am in the audience and when he announced the RRR, I became emotional. Outside being an Indian, I really had nothing to do with that film, but it was a very big, very big moment. It felt very personal.”

For The Anward, Natu Natu won the best original song category in 2023.

As Deepika spoke in the video, Payal Kapadia’s All V Imagine of Lite, Missing Ladies, Tambbad and Lunchbox clips were depicted. These films were critical praise, but were not nominated for the Academy Awards.

Actor and filmmaker Mindi Kalinga reacted to the video and recalled the time when he met Padukone at the ceremony. In the comment section, he wrote, “When I met you at an Oscar I could not breathe almost! You are amazing!”
