In his conversation News18 ShowshaSaba said, “The moment you are standing next to a man, your identity does not matter. It is sad, and it is a deep sitting genderism that most people have, even the most progressive. We all need to eat food on our desk. What do you think what is happening here? (Laughing).”

The actor also highlighted the same experiences faced by other women in the industry, such as Soni Razdan, co-star of their ‘songs of Paradise’. She told that Soni is often seen by her husband Mahesh Bhatt.

“Sony is an absolute legend. Watch the list of her performances of films! She has done films like ‘Mandi’, ‘Daddy’, and ‘Party’. The films she has done is incredible. When she was a new wave of Indian cinema, she was right. It is just strange that she did not believe as an entity.”

The 39 -year -old further talked about the challenges faced by women in the film industry. He said, “Things are changing, but people are hesitant to make films that are only about women or stories that revolve around women, still. It is still better today, but still, when you try and make a film about women, it immediately falls into a niche.”

He also highlighted practical issues on film sets, such as insufficient facilities for women. “It is not a mainstream film. It is not a mainstream story that you can tell to the whole country. It is the belief that Oh, Yeh Toh Center Log Dekehenge left to the left(People will see this left, right and center). The change is happening very late and very slowly. And then other things come, such as the lack of proper washrooms for women on a set. It happens all the time.”

Hrithik first publicly supported Saba and accepted the struggles he had in his career. “I have seen your struggle, helplessness, frustrations, pain that suffers from so many amazing artists,” he shared in a hearty note.
