Deals: Pixel 9 is back at its Prime Day price, plus some cheap 8GB MacBook Airs

During Prime Day a few weeks ago, the price for a 12/256GB unit of the Pixel 9 was €900. If you missed that deal, now you have a second chance – you can get it for just the same price and this time you don’t even need a Prime subscription.

There’s €100 off the regular price of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, even a €124 discount for a specific color/storage combo, which we’ve linked below. It’s a larger, more capable phone with a 6.8” LTPO display (vs. 6.3” non-LTPO), as well as a 48MP 5x (113mm) periscope (the wide and ultra-wide cameras are the same on the 9 and 9 Pro XL).

The price of the Samsung Galaxy A55 was reduced to €380 during the Prime Day sale and today’s offer isn’t quite as good – but €400 is still a good price for this mid-range.

The Huawei Watch GT 4 is a beautiful watch with several distinctive looks for the 41mm and 46mm versions. In terms of hardware it’s not a huge upgrade over the GT3, but it offers longer battery life, an intuitive UI and there are some improvements.

Apple unveiled new Macs with M4 chips this week. The MacBook Air wasn’t refreshed, so you’re still considering a choice between an M2 or M3 chip. One thing Apple did upgrade was to increase the base RAM from 8GB to 16GB, without touching the price. And now retailers that have 8GB MacBook Airs are looking to remove them from their inventory.

The 2022 MacBook Air 13.6” with the M2 chip, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage can be purchased from Amazon for €900. Apple.com has the 16/256GB model priced at €1,200, which suggests the chipset is two generations behind. This is not slow by any means, but over €1,000 is a huge ask.

The 2024 MacBook Air with the M3 chip comes in two sizes: 13.6” and 15.3”. Both have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and cost €1,090 for the smaller one and €1,250 for the larger one. The prices for the 16GB variants on Apple.com are €1,300 and €1,600 respectively, so if you can live with 8GB of RAM, that’s a saving worth making.

One last thing – the Kindle ColorSoft went on sale this week after a short pre-order period. This is Amazon’s first Kindle with a color e-ink display – a 7” display with 300 ppi pixel density for black and white content and 150 ppi exclusively for color content. It’s only available as a Signature Edition, so you get 32GB of storage, no ads, wireless charging (in addition to USB-C), and water resistance.
