Marvel is dropping more and more Easter eggs as the release of Deadpool and Wolverine draws closer!
The latest extended trailer for the highly anticipated superhero film shows an unnamed Lady Deadpool in the iconic red suit and blonde hair! Blind AI – the anti-hero’s greatest ally in the comics – is confirmed to be back!
New glimpse of Deadpool and Wolverine confirms presence of Lady Deadpool
As the release date approaches, Marvel is leaving no stone unturned in its marketing strategy. The studio has released a 10-day countdown promo for Deadpool and Wolverine, featuring plenty of new footage and Easter eggs for fans to analyze.
The footage confirms Lady Deadpool’s presence, but the actress’ face remains a mystery. Since Blake Lively and Taylor Swift were both rumored to have cameos in the film, could one of them be the female version of the iconic anti-hero? That would be epic!
In the trailer, Deadpool takes Wolverine to a safe house, where they encounter the one and only blind AI – Deadpool’s most trusted person and most prominent ally in the comic books. Clearly, there are many more dynamics and stories to look forward to!
Ryan Reynolds addresses the ‘sexual tension’ between his and Hugh Jackman’s characters
Although Lady Deadpool is set to make a cameo, Reynolds’ character already has a soft spot for Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. The actors, currently traveling around the world to promote their film, were asked by Variety about their characters’ “sexual tension.”
Reynolds said, “I can’t speak for Wolverine, but I think Deadpool has sexual tension with everything and everyone,” but before he could finish his sentence, Jackman came up with a bizarre response, saying, “Don’t deny that it’s special.” The IF actor elaborated on the joke, saying he could feel the tension.
However, director Shawn Levy clarified that Deadpool has a fan-boy love for Wolverine. He said, “Wade is a Wolverine fan. He (worships) Wolverine madly both on and off screen. But there’s a reverence. There’s a fanboy love.”
Regardless of the characters’ inner feelings, the pairing of a worried Wolverine and a disheveled and erratic Deadpool makes for a perfect dynamic duo!
Deadpool and Wolverine arrives in theaters July 26.
