Many fans might not have guessed that the recently released Deadpool and Wolverine will mention the ending of Logan. They have not only mentioned it but also creatively displayed it in a humorous way. Read on to know more about it.
Deadpool and Wolverine talk about Logan’s ending
As many Logan fans know, the main character sacrifices himself to save young X-23. The latest film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman references this poignant moment.
Deadpool and Wolverine’s first scene is based on Logan’s death, in which Deadpool tries to show that Wolverine didn’t really die. When he digs up Wolverine’s body, he finds an adamantium skeleton, which he uses to fight several TVA agents.
Logan’s conclusion remains intact. Deadpool is told that Logan is the most important character in his timeline. Logan’s departure means that the timeline will finally end. Deadpool then sets out to find another Wolverine to take his place.
Technically, Deadpool and Wolverine don’t change Logan’s ending. If anything, it makes Logan’s sacrifice even more important.
Was Deadpool and Wolverine’s previous title something else?
The blockbuster film had a different name. This was revealed by the lead actors of the newly released film during their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday.
This episode was also special because The Greatest Showman star Jackman himself interviewed Reynolds. The two of them were very funny throughout the conversation. During the interview, they trolled each other and talked about their friendship.
During this segment, it was revealed that Deadpool and Wolverine were originally named Deadpool and Friend.
Reynolds said that he originally launched the trailer at the Super Bowl, but the title was leaked by “scum on the internet” and viewers didn’t like the title. Reynolds further said that he doesn’t like it now.
The Proposal star revealed that he and director Shawn Levy sat in the editing room for months. They approached everyone at Disney and Marvel and insisted that the film’s name should be changed, but were initially rebuffed.
The actor convinced them by saying he would never call the film Deadpool and Friend. As a result, they changed the title.
