As Artificial Intelligence (AI), from chatbots in every aspect of daily life to deepfac videos, finds the world of cinema in a significant moment. While some filmmakers are careful with this developed technology, others are embracing its ability. One such voice is of filmmaker Danish Devgan.
“AI is a powerful tool – more than an enemy, it is our friend,” Danish Devgan, who is experimenting with AI in his recent film ‘Ma’ starring Kajol.
“Creative people are afraid of this, but I think if it is used correctly, it always helps and adds a lot of value to projects. We are also testing it in our other films, so yes, it adds a lot of value.”
Other major sounds of the industry have also opened about the use of AI. Recently, talking especially today, India Today, experienced actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan said, “I will never be satisfied with a digital kiss from a child. I want a real child. You understand that I want a real woman to kiss. I want a real man to kiss AI, but I am not sure AI will like me.
Music Mestro R Rahman has been at the forefront of integrating AI into music. In a special interview with India Today today, he defended the use of AI in music, saying, “Only when you really need it and only when you can do it. It should not be half-credited. It’s not a gimmick, it’s not an effect and fulfill the purpose.”
Therefore, while some are happy with AI, many are still finding out whether it is a boon or a curse.
