The Harry Potter films starring Daniel Radcliffe will return to Chinese cinema after more than a decade of release. Fans of the fantasy film series in mainland China are excited by the news, as it will be one of the first Hollywood titles to be shown in Chinese theaters on national holidays and from Thursday through next week.
Screenings will begin on October 11, with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone being the first film. The rest will be shown weekly.
The films will be available in a variety of formats, including traditional 2D and other premium options such as Unity, IMAX and Dolby Cinema, ensuring every fan can enjoy the magic of Harry Potter in their favorite viewing experience.
Warner Bros. Studios released a statement regarding the films’ re-release, marking a historic moment in cinema. This will be the first time that all eight Harry Potter films will be seen on a wide scale in any region, and Chinese audiences are privileged to be a part of this cinematic milestone.
Hollywood in mainland China has been largely affected, especially years after the pandemic, as the Chinese film industry has become more robust and is highly consumed in the country.

According to the statement, Warner Bros. head of theatrical releases Curt Ryder claimed, “This release marks a significant milestone for the ‘Harry Potter’ film series, as it marks the first time that all eight films will be available consecutively.” Such a huge scale in any field.” He added, “However, there is an entire generation of Chinese audiences who haven’t had the chance to enjoy the ‘Harry Potter’ films in theaters.”
The Harry Potter films gained popularity in the early 2010s, and over the years, have managed to retain audiences for over a decade when they ran in theaters.
As for the cast of the film series, Daniel Radcliffe is joined by Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Alan Rickman, and Robbie Coltrane.
