Actress Dakota Johnson calls off engagement with Coldplay’s Chris Martin: report
‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ actress Dakota Johnson and Coldplay’s Chris Martin have reportedly called off their engagement. They were together for seven years.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ actress Dakota Johnson has reportedly called off her engagement with Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin. The two had been dating for seven years.
Dakota and Chris, who always kept details about their relationship low-key, reportedly tried their best to make their relationship work. Ultimately, it did not stand the test of time, suggests daily Mail,
“Chris and Dakota have tried very hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They will always love each other, but they have both come to the conclusion that this relationship cannot last long,” a source told the international portal.
The source added: “They’re both busy people, Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay and they both have personal priorities, passions and work commitments that don’t naturally mesh. They wanted it to work but it just didn’t and they’ve now accepted it’s best to move on.”
The speculation began when Dakota was spotted walking her dog in Malibu earlier this month without an engagement ring. According to reports, she lived there with Chris. She was also missing from the Coldplay singer’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour in Europe.
Dakota and Chris did not announce their engagement on social media. They have been engaged for six years, reports Page Six.
The former couple began dating in 2017. Previously, the Coldplay frontman was married to ‘Iron Man’ star Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he has two children, daughter Apple (20) and son Moses (18). Chris and Gwyneth got married in 2003 and their relationship ended in divorce in 2014. Three years later, Martin began a relationship with Dakota.
Meanwhile, Dakota’s past relationships include Welsh singer Matthew Hitt and American actor Jordan Masterson.
