Daisy Shah to join Shreyas Talpade in Palash Muchhal’s directorial debut
Palash Muchhal is gearing up to direct a new thriller starring Shreyas Talpade and Daisy Shah. The project marks his professional comeback after the end of his marriage with Smriti Mandhana amid controversies.

Composer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal is back to work, weeks after the end of his marriage with cricketer Smriti Mandhana. After attracting public attention for several weeks regarding his personal life, the filmmaker is now preparing for his next directorial venture, an untitled thriller.
It was recently announced that actor Shreyas Talpade will lead the project. The latest update reveals that actor Daisy Shah has been cast for the lead female role opposite Talpade.
Palash Muchhal casts Daisy Shah in new thriller with Shreyas Talpade
On February 15, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Daisy Shah joins Shreyas Talpade in Palash Muchhal’s next. On the auspicious occasion of #Mahashivratri, director #Palash Muchhal has signed #DaisyShah for the lead role opposite #Shreyas Talpade for his upcoming, yet untitled thriller. Set in the backdrop of #Mumbai, filming is expected to begin soon.”
The shooting of this thriller based on the backdrop of Mumbai is expected to begin soon. Talpade will reportedly play the role of a common man. Further details regarding the story, supporting cast and release date are still under wraps.
Muchhal previously directed Ardh (2022), starring Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik, and Kaam Chalu Hai (2024), starring Rajpal Yadav, Jiya Maneck and Kurangi Nagaraj.

For those unaware, Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were supposed to get married on November 23, 2025, after being in a relationship for many years. Muchhal had proposed to the cricketer on the cricket field and the couple had completed pre-wedding festivities including Sangeet and Haldi ceremony.
However, a day before the wedding, rumors alleging Muchhal’s infidelity surfaced online. Although the claims were never officially confirmed, the families initially announced the postponement and later confirmed that the wedding had been cancelled.
